After viii months of working every bit information technology should the Nest thermostat started displaying various letters, power out, no power to the RH wire, TOOLS, etc. I called the service 313-483-9127 line after spending hours online trying to go some assistance. The 2nd or third person I spoke to was intelligent and thought he had solved the effect, thinking it was the base and had a new one sent, it did not solve the trouble and for the next FORTY-Five days and six or more GOOGLE personnel and multiple hours of wasted fourth dimension, they are doing naught. Oh and I replaced it with a $27 Honeywell stat. Had an Air-conditioning company practise a service call to check the wiring that GOOGLE kept saying was the problem and was not and everything work perfectly.

My battery is expressionless. The thermostat has been running without a C-wire, in a ability stealing mode. The battery has given up and even though I've installed a power connector to improve the situation with the C-wire, it'southward still in a situation where the bombardment tin can't recover the required charge to connect to wifi. It would exist a very solvable problem if the battery could be replaced, which was possible with other models. It's frustrating that after but two years the product is broken and no repair is possible. I would non recommend this product for anyone who does non have a C-wire.

I'chiliad exhausted from trying to resolve my Nest app account event. Their customer service is horrible. Their rep Jonas kept interrupting me while I was explaining my event, his focus was arguing with me.

Nest should become under a form activity suit by g of user!!! For many after a year or two when ringing the bell the camera goes blind and one cannot talk or see the ringer!! The reason which is a strongly held secret by Google Nest is that at that place is a Not replaceable bombardment within the doorbell Hello as such the unit becomes useless!!! This is a well known and guarded cloak-and-dagger by Nest considering if exposed information technology would take to commutation countless Hullo Nest doorbells!!! Someone should take a form action against them because the lifetime of the product is very express and one has to spend again approx $250 every few years to purchase a new bell door!!! The comers indeed volition work but when one rings the chime volition cutting off and the picture goes blind!!! What a bluff Nest!!!

Information technology is squeamish to be able to monitor your thermostat remotely. Unfortunately you need to. It turns itself on and off, switches from Dwelling and Away modes and enters Eco all on information technology's own. Very, very frustrating. Hard to recommend this product. I as well bought the Nest doorbell and information technology stopped working in less than a year.

As much as I similar the NEST products usability and expect, the reliability is unfortunately terrible. I'chiliad at my fourth thermostat in a little bit over 4 years at present. In the past, Google support has been able to diagnose the failures and transport me a replacement thermostat. The last time however, the thermostat was erratic and not responsive through remote or manual controls. It would start my furnace randomly and would reset itself. I had to turn off the whole system. Beingness in January, I could not wait days to get a replacement, so I purchased one myself and reinstalled it. It fixed the problem.

When I finally reached Google support, they wanted me to put the broken thermostat dorsum. Information technology made no sense and afterward 1 hour of arguing (I wanted to send the broken thermostat back and get my money back every bit it was under the warranty), I gave upwardly. Google made it difficult to devious from their rigid process. They were not willing to be flexible to this specific situation. This is the last time I am ownership a Nest thermostat, and volition start looking for more than reliable alternative now. I am not keen to expect for a fourth failure, or go through this client service experience again.

I bought my offset Nest thermostat and it went bad later about a year and Nest finally sent me a refurbished unit. While waiting on the unit to arrive I bought a second Nest thermostat and planned to just save the refurbished one they were sending me as a fill-in. Bought the 2nd one in April 2021 and now in December 2021 (viii months!) it has gone bad. I was noticing that the stat was dropping the WiFi connection and upon further examination observe that it was doing so because of a low battery. Finally the thermostat completely went expressionless and would not power on. I contacted Nest support chat and was told I would have to charge the unit using a micro USB cablevision. I charged it for the 2 hours recommended and and so connected it back to the baseplate and it would not power on. We spent the nighttime in the cold.

This morning I contacted the visitor that had recently replaced my HVAC arrangement and they sent a tech out to meet what the problem was. He used his voltage tester and constitute that the wires continued to the baseplate did have proper voltage, but one the wires were inserted into the baseplate in that location was no ability detected. He checked the HVAC system to confirm that everything was as it should be and that they system was supplying power to the stat wiring. He and so removed the Nest thermostat and replaced it with an inexpensive thermostat and the heat came on immediately. An obvious sign that the stat and/or baseplate was bad.

Tonight I again contacted Nest back up chat and they read my notes from yesterday. The tech back up guy said that he would demand to know the error code that the thermostat had given in social club to know how to proceed. I told him that I did recollect seeing a code only did non remember what that code was. I further told him that after seeing the lawmaking the stat showed the wiring diagram and that 1 wire indicated that the unit was not receiving power. The chat support guy said he'd have to have that code and would also take to have an itemized invoice from the HVAC visitor. I told him that the HVAC guy told me they may not charge me for the service call since the organisation was recently installed. He said he'd demand to know from the service technician what troubleshooting steps had been taken and what the error code was.

I told the chat gut that the technician was not going to know what the error lawmaking was because the unit would not power on. And equally far as troubleshooting, he tested the wires for voltage and it showed right voltage but when the wires were connected to the baseplate there was no voltage detected. He then removed the Nest thermostat and baseplate and replaced it with an inexpensive thermostat and the system worked.

Plainly the trouble is in the Nest thermostat. The conversation guy once again stated for him to go whatever farther he would accept to have the code and an invoice. I told him I could ship him the stat and they could do all the testing they wanted to on the unit of measurement and notice the code themselves. He would not budge. I once more told him I was NOT going to uninstall the working thermostat and reinstall the Nest just to see if it would give a code. He told me that if I could supply the lawmaking and an invoice he'd be happy to proceed. I asked to exist continued to a supervisor and he told me that he could resolve the issue if I would provide the info he needed. I finally told him I could see that this wasn't going anywhere and that I would just render information technology to Lowe's and tell them that Nest refused to honor their warranty and asking a refund. Unless yous have money to burn, I would non recommend investing in the Nest thermostat.

Nest is a complete piece of trash. I will never purchase or recommend this production to anyone or my customers again. They are consummate garbage. After 2 years of replacing them with the latest ones they all of a sudden stop working correctly. I called to speak to Nest virtually the issue and spent two hours on the phone and they told me to charge them via a regular power string and information technology'due south still not working. The thermostats just will not stay connected to WiFi because it won't charge. I called back and at present I'm beingness told my WiFi is draining the ability from the thermostat and I should disconnect them for 24 hours. A smart production needs to be disconnected from the WiFi because my WiFi is draining the battery? Have y'all ever heard any dumb ** like that?

I was too told that it'south odd to the representative how all of my thermostats are falling off the network as if I'm lying. This is 2021 and so why the ** am I going through all these steps in the middle of winter? Then I'thou told there'due south nothing Google can practice for me cause all my thermostats are out of warranty and they tin can't help me. I had the same issues with the $400 camera and had to call back to speak to a supervisor earlier they replaced my camera. Stay far away from nest products. I've installed them and recommend them with my business and I'll brand sure never over again and tell my customers to get rid of them!!!!

Thermostat volition not connect to working wifi. Error bulletin. Will work manually. I manually set my thermostat to 60 before I left for five days. Even so, because app wasn't working I couldn't monitor temp. When I returned my house was at 40. Took more than iii hours to ascent ten degrees. The Nest is a horrible product. I experience that it'due south in charge of me not the other style around. I will be returning information technology as information technology is unreliable and not easy to command.

I purchased a Nest hi doorbell today, to replace our Band pro that had died. Thought I would give the Nest a try, following what looked like skillful reviews.

Installed pretty hands and started working correct off the bat. However, suddenly stopped working. Still had video, but no alerts when people showed up. Door chimes stopped as well. Decided to contact nest support after being unable to apply their web problem-solving. Go through the usual algorithm, till you lot get to the topic you are looking for. They tell you lot support will be there shortly. After ~ 5 minutes, line went expressionless. Then I called again, and this time, later on a further long await, recording announces unable to help, telephone back another time. Device is going dorsum into the box and returning it to Costco.
